A few weeks ago, I caught myself doing something all too familiar- reaching for my phone the moment I woke up. I had barely opened my eyes before my thumb began its habitual dance across the screen — checking messages, glancing at headlines, diving headfirst into the scroll.

At least 20 minutes passed before I even got out of bed! I didn’t feel more informed, more connected, or more relaxed. In fact, I felt… foggy. Unsettled. A little hollow.

These sites grab us and have multiple click bait ads that are disguised as “wellness” or “a better you.” They even go as far as popping in a “get rich now” scam. On and on………………….

On some level, we know it’s garbage, but our fingers keep going.

This isn’t just about a bad habit. It’s about an entire system — cleverly designed to keep us hooked — that is reshaping how we think, feel, and connect with others.

Although checking emails and other informational apps can be overused, social media is the leader in hooking us in to an endless scroll with very little substance!
