Eckhart Tolle’s Vision of the False Self and True Presence

Years ago, I discovered Eckhart Tolle’s book The Power of Now. I must admit that at the time, around 1998, the book was too complex for me to digest.
A part of me enjoyed the content, but as most followers would agree, it’s the type of book that needs to be read more than once. In addition, sometimes we are drawn to information that we may not be ready for at that moment, but later, it’s there and ready for us.
So, that’s what happened to me………….
Fast-forward to 2024, and here I am—older but thankfully wiser. I’ve got Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now and A New Earth in audio format, and I digest the content differently. I love to read, but I find that listening best absorbs certain information.
I have a different perspective as I reimmerse myself in Eckhart Tolle’s work. The essence of self in Tolle’s philosophy is truly captivating. His emphasis on the “self” and the concept of ego is profound.
What intrigues me the most is the focus on the false self versus the true self. This deeper understanding adds a whole new layer of meaning to his teachings.
